Activity 1: Raining Hearts
The student can use a rubber heart stamp, heart stickers, or red markers to make it rain hearts on this worksheet. I had them add a heart every time they said their sound. They decorated the person to look like themselves.
Activity 2: Creative Writing
The students made their own story about it raining something silly. When they had finished their story, I had each student stand up and present it to the group. This was a fun way to target articulation in connected speech, sequencing, grammar, fluency...
Activity 3: Valentine Tree
In the story, the students see hearts growing on trees. For this activity, I had students use a stamp to add hearts to their tree each time they said their sound. In the end, we had a bunch of adorable Valentine trees to decorate the speech room with.
