Product Details
Coarticulation can be an effective strategy for eliciting vocalic R and these spinners make it extra fun!
This packet is designed for students who can produce initial prevocalic /r/ in words, but are struggling to achieve an accurate final vocalic R. Coarticulation refers to your mouth moving in anticipation of the next sound(s) in a word. It can be incredibly effective for eliciting vocalic R because the child’s mouth is already moving in anticipation of the upcoming initial /r/ in word sets such as CAR → RED or HEAR → RUN.
There are no childish pictures or graphics in this packet, making it ideal for older elementary and middle school students who are still working on the R Sound.
This is a low-prep activity. All you need is a pencil and a paperclip to get started! Spin the paperclip to select which word sets you will practice!
One worksheet is included for each of the following R Contexts:
- AR
- EAR
- AIR
- OR
- IRE
- ER
There is also a blank page for writing in words of your choice! This makes 7 total worksheets for coarticulation fun in your speech room!
