This early inferencing activity is no-prep and perfect for WINTER!

How to use this activity:
  1. Give your student a Winter Clues Inferencing sheet.
  2. Read the clues to your student, one by one.
  3. After you read it, your student will use the clues to infer what item is being described and mark that item on their sheet. They can mark the item by coloring it, pointing to it, smashing dough on it, or any other way they'd like.
No-Prep version: Instead of cutting out the clue cards, leave them all on one sheet!

The grade levels you use this with will change, depending on your student's language skills and ability to make inferences. I use this with my 2nd graders when discussing inferencing skills!

Can be modified for all age groups!

I love this activity because I could target it with all age groups and with artic as well. With my pre-k kids, they loved doing the activity as directed. With my 4th graders, I had them look at the sheet for 10 seconds before turning it over to the blank side. They had to describe the items on their own without viewing the pre-written clues. I also used it with my low to nonverbal kiddos along with sentence strips/AT device to expand utterances. With my artic kiddos, we used the items to create silly sentences using their target sounds. The Winter Clues activity also got me through that last week before winter break...Phew! Thanks Peachie Speechie! 🍑
